These gates need to Stand Out. Maybe a light shinning on the gate?
At night, the gates really do not stand out.
A major change Village wide needs implemented.

District Leaders: Ask the drivers who knock down the gates, why they didn't see it....if its visibility then that's the answer. Simple.
If a person has lived in TV for any length of time they should know that there is a gate arm at the entrances. If they can't remember that maybe its time to turn in the drivers license. When you pull up to an entrance, where you should remember that there is a gate arm, and can't see the arm in your headlights maybe it's time to turn in the drivers license.
In addition to lighting up the gate with a spot light maybe we should have a flashing red light on the gate arm also like at rail road crossings. There could also be a gate guard with a flashlight with a red cone lens to guide the blind drivers through the entrance.

Been here in excess of 19 years and have never knocked down a gate arm. It's just poor driving the cause.

We’re NOT on the autobahn or in Germany. Few MB and Porsche will run 180

Doing that could make you another statistic of road rage. I would not slow down to 5mph with no way for the driver to pass me. That may infuriate driver. Be careful out there!

Where far too many rules do not apply for too many.

Compounded by complete lack of enforcement.

When is the last time anyone has seen a speed trap?
The average speed of traffic on TV main roads is significantly over the speed limit.

Then there's the drivers on Colony Drive at Sembler Way who run stop signs AND/OR turn left in front of other vehicles. Happened today!!

People who drive the road speeds in parking lots....

Yes, I am thinking defensive driving and carting and walking; avoid the fast lane changers, the very slow ones in front of you, the person who turns into the lane facing you, make sure you can jump out of the way of the car going at lightning speed in parking lot, the car on the golf cart path etc etc.

The only way to truly avoid these people is to stay home.

If you want to join the real world, accept the fact that some people are going to do things that do not meet your approval and learn how to deal with them.

Defensive driving, riding etc doesn’t mean staying at home, to me. It means ‘leaving myself an out’. Enough space around so that I can take evasive action. Being alert and anticipating what the people around me might do so I can respond safely.

You must have the worst luck, in over 15 years of Village living we have never encountered two vehicles side by side both traveling 5 miles under the speed limit. We have, however, encountered those who start late and drive with a heavy foot tailgating the normal drivers.

Sorry but we too have often gotten behind side by side drivers going well below the speed limit. The opposite is more likely but both slow pokes and NASCAR wannabes abound.

Hmmm, I found just the opposite, People going 5 miles over the speed and the tardy people who can’t get out the door on time and they try to make it up on the road.
