Nearby? We don’t know what Village you live in, however, the farmers market at Brownwood and Spanish Springs are both excellent places to purchase strawberries.

Publix had them day before yesterday, 3 pints for six dollars. Beautiful and yummy.

Imo any store brought fruit or vegetables are kinda bland. With all the picking before there wipe, food coloring, preservative kills the taste and probably some of us

Got Plant City strawberries on Saturday at Brownwood and I'm sorry to say, three of us agree.....they aren't very good! Not sweet, and very bland. Hope we just got a bad batch!

It is my belief that Publix has a lot of clout with it's huge buying power and I am sure growers give them the best as they are such a big dependable customer. I picked strawberries from my grandfather's garden as a little girl and have enjoyed them every year since. I am absolutely sure they aren't artificially colored. They may have been grown with fertilizer and pesticides but so are strawberries almost everywhere or the bugs would get them.

I say to you that those Publix strawberries were good and yummy, and I only had to throw two berries out, of three pints. Six dollars for three pints. I was pleased.

I don't know... I bought them at Publix and am disappointed. They are very red but very bland. I think it's a bit early for the good ones.

Here is a little known fact. The best quality fruits and vegetables are often sorted out and sent to Northern markets where they bring higher prices.

Large quantities of Plant City strawberries are set aside and sold in a variety of venues for strawberry shortcake at the annual Strawberry Festival which ends Sunday, March 11th.

Some strawberry farms will be opening to allow public picking of strawberries at greatly reduced prices in the next few days.

I tried to defend Publix, which I so enjoy their whole experience and their advertising and I for one still remember the chigger bites from berrying.

AND I LOVE this commercial, it always makes me blink back tears;

This is a great deal. We paid $2.50 a lb last week. The lady said a bucket holds about 5 lbs. The berries are so good, nothing like in the supermarkets.

For me the only thing Publix got are conveniently close to me and boars head meats. Other wise I can get most everything else at Walmart for around 1/2 price of Publix

Same here. They looked soooo much better than they tasted. I macerated them with sugar, chocolate balsamic vinegar and pepper. I then whipped up cream and put a nice dollop on top. Improved things immensely. As for eating them as is, meh.
