I guess that bumpy bridge deck is considered normal and won't be fixed?

So your They, meaning the PWAC is not the agency to complain about if you are unhappy with the road. Even if the PWAC felt the road needed fixing, it is not within their power to fix it.

Blueash you are correct in your statements, PWAC has no power to fix the roadway on the bridge.
The bridge foundations do not rest upon this manmade island, they are set on piling in the bedrock (for lack of a better term for the underlying structure here in Florida). Even if the island were to be completely reclaimed by mother nature the bridges would still stand. The park area and roadway surface that connect the two bridge structures would however be compromised.
The island was built to all state and federal standards based on known conditions and data. Mother nature doesn't really care about manmade standards and threw a curve ball a few years ago and proved that anything man can build, she can unbuild in time.

make it user tax --charge a toll, to pay for repair than never take the toll away. maybe charge Lady Lake a fee for using TV property to support their bridge.

Your information and logic will fall on deaf ears of all the so-called experts. I always have appreciated your informed comments! As for the bridge/road---it was built long before the traffic and is taken care of by the county---but that was stated by another here. Also as another stated, the MMP is fine "IF" (emphasis on "IF") people adhere to the 10 mph speed. The sidewalk is that way "IF" one is walking and meets up with a cart so they can hop up on it. Personally I'd not want to walk it but that's just me. The new bridges are constructed the same way. The old one over 441/27 has no side-walk and would be dangerous (my opinion) to try to walk over.

And how does the County maintain the bridge is they don’t own enough land around the bridge to do so?????? Note that even the roads in your neighborhood the county owns about 10 feet or so outside the edge of pavement toward your property. Not at the Morse bridge that’s very very very ODD!!!!!!

Odd? How do they do it in Fort Myers?

Almost $1.4 MILLION to protect the island(s?) from only wind-driven waves causing erosion, from a relatively small lake? Where do I get on the bidders list?

Walking, as a general rule is very dangerous in TV. The tunnels and multi-modal trails are no “walk in the park” either.

Just rent you couple dump trucks to haul rip rap from the fenney quarry. Put in you’re bid and get the message sorry we have brother-in law that got the contract which he immediately sub contacted out to ——— you guessed it for less than half the contract price. You know kinda like how roofing companies do it. :faint::)

The county does not own that 10 feet beside the roads. The landowners do. The county only has the right to use it.

How many of these "Infrastructure Bills" have we had the last 12 years that was going to fix our bridges and highways. Seems like "shovel ready" was one slogan to sell to the tax increase. How many new bridges or highways have you heard about actually being built? All I hear is how badly neglected our infrastructure is but never how much has been fixed. Its a lot easier to point out bad examples to show a need for new taxes but it's real hard to show a new bridge or road that was never built with the past taxes.
