They didn't broadcast it.... They did it behind the scenes, not looking for praise or credit, just being the exceptional caring and generous family that they have showed time & time again that they are. Quite frankly tired of the "family bashers"... I am so very GRATEFUL to the Morse family for creating this incredible place we now call home and for all the things they do and create to make this time in our lives, the best time of our life!

:bigbow: YES! Best place ever to live thanks to one man's dream and legacy he passed on to his family.

If indeed the Morse Family is helping with the landlords with rent so they can help their workers then they should just come out and state that they are helping. This would stop the negativity. If the workers who drive from as far as Ocala and Orlando every day find a new job or move away, fifty percent of the restaurants will close!

Well said and I totally agree with you. To coin the phrase Silence is Golden, well IMO not in this circumstance when virtually the whole of The Villages has come to a screeching halt. :ohdear:

PS: To the negative comments on my post . I merely suggested to Mr. Morse and his Sister to " Consider " . :)

That made it look like it was all about me. Maybe that is what the are Morse’s doing...helping the merchants without the need to broadcast it.

I believe what you've said is pure speculation. This concept of wishing other people would be doing something is almost NEVER based in knowledge of the facts.

Leave it alone.

I agree with most of what has been said in the replies IF it pertained to the average person, or maybe even the average millionaire. But I think the Multi-Billionaires of the world have a more public responsibility. They each have the financial wealth of a small country. That wealth represents resources so far beyond what any of them will ever need that how they are putting it to use is of public interest and should be openly shared at all times, not just during states of emergency or crisis. That said, you may now proceed to trash me.

Nonsense. That’s socialism. If they wish to share, that’s great but if not, it’s their choice. What’s mine is mine and none of your business.

If they were doing anything, they would make sure everyone knew.

I don't know why people think the developer owes residents, or businesses anything at all. They created the community, they attract merchants who are interested in serving the community, and the rest should be up to the residents and those running the CDDs. I think the Morse family has done enough already for us all...

Enough of the negative comments, I posted what I thought would be a nice gesture from Mr. Morse and his Sister to " Perhaps " wave a month or two rental for some of the small business establishments here.

Then " Kaboom " so I get it: My thoughts now go like this.

Take Out :

Fri. Havana

Sat. Legacy

Sun. Carrabba's

Mon. Cane Garden

Tues. Bonefish

Wed. Dine In

Thurs. Chop House

Meanwhile : Happy Hour begins at 1730 Buh Bye

I do not think this is true at all. They value their privacy—that is their right. They have also demonstrated that they are very classy. If they told everyone what they do, as you suggest, they’d be accused of bragging.

We all need to look inward and see who WE can help in these difficult times.

Very little negativity.............just by a very few, the same old very few.

If they are not complaining about Trump, they are complaining about the Morse family -- get a life already -- none of us know exactly what is going on. I wonder if businesses lose money from all of this, if they can claim it as a loss at income tax time. Believe me, no one will starve in The Villages.

There it is, the "What I have heard" card.
