Default mosquitoes problem.

In the 7 years I have been in the Villages, I have never had a mosquitoes problem. Do not this year either.

When we were in northwestern Wisconsin, the mosquitos all came out at night and they would bite right through your clothing or jeans! Luckily, they are not bad at all here. We live in the village of Glenbrook.

Moved to Jacksonville FL in 2006 and stayed 11 years. There was a 26,000-gallon pool in the back. I rarely saw any then and been here over 3 years and have not seen but a few. I am in Silver Lake.

I’m in the northern portion of TV and rarely see a mosquito. It’s quite impressive that they are so under control especially since we are in Florida.

I haven't seen any mosquitos in my area.

Default Call Sumter County Mosquito Control if you have a problem with the little guys

I took the advice listed on this post (THANKS THANKS THANKS) and called Mosquito Control. They were very nice and told me they vendored it out this year and have been receiving a lot of calls. They put in a "ticket" for my area/address which is near Brownwood and will call me back with a schedule. When they asked for my address I indicated that it wasn't only my address but that I've also been at a friends house in other areas bellow 466a and had the same problem. Her response was the ticket will only be for my area and tell others bothered by Mosquitos to call in and ask to create a ticket for their area. The call information is included below. Hope they do something about them now.
But we have a lot of birds around us I hope this doesn't stop them from coming to our feeders.

Wow within 2 hrs I received a call from Mosquito Control telling me they would spray my area tonight. Impressive!

Wow in another 2 hr I received another call - I'll try to paraphrase the call > We no longer have a schedule for spraying we now have a more scientific method with a Entomologists where we set out traps, count the Mosquitos and their age and type and spray based on this method. Since we are limited to the amount and placement of the traps we rely on and encourage residents to tells us areas that require our attention. It has been a very wet summer so far and Mosquito counts are much higher. In addition to spraying tonight, they are returning in the morning to see how effective it was.

The response from Mosquito control has been great > Now hopefully the outcome will be as good as their response.

Smile They sprayed!

The sprayed Eisenhower 2 nights ago like they said they would and a day later I checked at night with fresh bait ( took a shower and shorts), there was only 1 in about 5 minutes. So not perfect but a good improvement. BTW I know this isnt the only area I've been in other locations and right after dusk they get real hungry - perhaps it just my sweet blood from the ice cream I eat. I'll try not eating ice cream and test again - then again I'm not sure I can do that.
