Does anyone know of several places in the Villages that rents out DVD's and where they are. I live close to 466A but will drive where ever to get the DVD's. Thanks AL

Default DVD Rentals

There is a Blockbuster located in Villages Spanish Plaines Shopping Center off of Hwy 27/441. I rent mine from NetFlix.com. It's less expensive and you pick up your DVD's in your mailbox.

Default Check out the Publix on 466A.

The Publix at Villages Spanish Plaines Shopping Center off of Hwy 27/441 has a dollar movie vending machine or I have seen signs for one last week.

The Publix at 466a might also have one??

The selection on these vending machines is quite limited though.

IF I were you, I would check out Blockbuster Online (which ne and some others use) and NetFlix (which others use). The online service with mailed DVDs is great.

I always have DVDs to watch and it is a short trip to the mail stop to return and get more. And there is no time period to return them.

I am on a plan with Blockbuster Online which allows me to have 3 DVDs out at a time and then return these to any US Blockbuster Store to get replacements for these movies at no cost. Now, though, I will not get any new movies sent in the mail until I return the movies I rented from the specific Blockbuster store. I can keep these movies from a Blockbuster store as long as I want though.

The last time I took my online BB DVD to the Blockbuster store I was on the regular 2 day or 7 day rental period. I figured that sucked since I can mail in a DVD on Monday (before the PO pickup) and get a replacement on Wednesday. And I usually get the latest titles.

But then that was about a year or so ago. I have not seen the inside of the BB brick and mortar store in a long time.

Like many other people I use Netflix. I was very skeptical about their service claims but was astonished to see that they actually can turn around shipments in one day. I don't know how they can accomplish this since the postal service takes 4 days to get a letter to Ocala.

Anyway kudos to them and it's a real easy process.

The rental at WalMart is called Redbox and it's great. You can go out to their website and reserve movies - even before they're released. It's a great option for $1.
