The theaters should be turned over to the recreation department. If this was done the theaters would not have to make a large profit, just brake even, and we would get our theaters back. The Villages are still using “three theaters” as a selling point, when in actuality there is only one operating and that one does not operate every day. There is also some kind of comedy club in that theaters lobby.

I just don't get it. It is already there and had been in use until Covid. It will bring people to Brownwood square to spend $ at the restaurants etc. You have tons of golf courses but here is something we really need and you only have a movie theatre in Sumter landing.....

The point is to open the Brownwood movie theater and movie patrons do often spend money before or after the film at businesses surrounding the movie theater.

I do not see anything about breaking even or a profit. Again. This is an attraction for the businesses and for the Villages and not another Burger King. Even though some of my family members had some Burger King on Monday.

They only had the Rialto here when we moved here in June of 2005. The Old Mill Playhouse opened around November of 2005. Barnstorm probably a few years after the Old Mill Playhouse opened.

And some of the big movie openings were sold out. At every theater they had one of these.
