Rules some choose to ignore…

Yes, "rules are rules." Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.[/QUOTE]

That’s exactly it. The same folks who go on and on complaining about a little white cross in someone’s yard, consistently drive over the speed limit. Even though, they agreed to the rules of the road when they accepted their license to drive. So it really boils down to WHICH rules they choose to ignore.

Yet they can be ticketed/fined/arrested if they drive over the speed limit...

Are you for the same "punishment" for yard ornaments?

Same question in reverse: how many people have killed because they worship the pink flamingo?

That IS deep and thought-provoking!

Many wars have been religious wars. Even today in the US, religion can be manipulated to cause division and NOT unity.

Except in the case of this thread, this topic, it is very specifically to do with religion. There are people who put these on their lawns and proclaim "freedom of RELIGION" as their justification to break the rules. There is currently a lawsuit about it. And now that there is so much support for this one household that has chosen to break the rules and use "freedom of religion" as their excuse, there is a new, very decisively religious statue on another home that is getting a lot of heavy press.

All because people refuse to follow the rules of their particular village. You choose to live in a neighborhood that has the rule "no lawn ornaments" then you should not be given a free pass just because your lawn ornament has some connection with a religion.

And all the people supporting them should remember that when they side with the rulebreakers, they're hanging their banner on the side of anarchy with the name "religion" printed on the bottom.

FreeDUMB of religion!

All rules must be enforced by SOME government entity - speeding by the Police - lawn ornaments by the court system. Zero enforcement would be anarchy. People complain about "THE GOVERNMENT", yet it would be impossible to have a functioning society without government.

Sounds like moving elsewhere is definitely what you need. Market is hot , so you should be able to sell and move on in 30 days!

Deed restrictions are LEGAL restrictions agreed to by the purchaser...

So yes, they are the LAW of the neighborhood. Otherwise they couldn't be LEGALLY enforced...

People complain about "GOVERNMENT OVERREACH", not "The Government"...

I don't think there are many anarchists living in TV...

Excellent question! I was also wondering what was meant by his statement. Surely it was not meant to insult?
