Default A multi-lane extension of Buena Vista Blvd. south of SR 44 Part 2

Just returned from a planning meeting where three options of a Buena Vista extension were explained to people who will be next door to that road system. It’s my understanding that this extension is needed to help relieve the Morse and 44 intersection because of the future increase in traffic caused by the Villages growth down south.

Who gets to make the final decision?

Interesting to see all the roads laid out and the possible future expansions.

Thanks for the info.

I am making the assumption that the lots/houses shown are “future”. It appears on alternative B some of the lots would be given up for the road.

I just checked Google Earth, all of those houses currently exist, and yes I agree several would have to be removed, and lots of others would be impacted. It will be interesting to see which route is picked.

That's what I saw too! They will do less building there and instead add more traffic lanes to keep up with the sprawl.

The article in this mornings (3/22) daily sun stated there were 4 options, with the 4th being NO extension of Buena Vista. From a traffic standpoint, I think the no extension option MIGHT be better as traffic would then go to 301, Powell, Buena Vista, or Morris. IMHO, if Buena Vista is extended, the traffic from the turnpike will go North on Meggesion to the new extension, and then continue north on Buena Vista. Wish I had been able to go to the meeting and ask if traffic studies were done and the results.

It’s my understanding that traffic studies were done. If Buena Vista is not extended, then the Morse 44 exchange might require more turn lanes plus six lanes straight through. This is one reason for thinking about the extension of Buena Vista.
