This might not be a bad thing. I have used many clubs across the nation in my travels, and quite honestly I was never impressed with the MVP clubs. I thought they were marginally equipped with relatively old equipment. Hopefully the new owners will put some investment in them. The best clubs I have used are the Lifetime Fitness ones.
Supposed to be a seamless transition for patrons. Today is day 1 under Genesis. No ability to sign into web site and reserve classes. I'm sure it's coming, but not seamless.
I was there for a class yesterday, June 1. I was told there will no longer be a reservation system, so it’s get in line and hope to get a spot. Should be okay for the summer, don’t know about season. I joined MVP so I wouldn’t have to get there an hour early and get in line, like the rec centers. I’m paying, so I’ll probably quit in the fall since I am only interested in group classes.
They say there will be a reservation system. It says "coming soon" on the website. If this transition was truly supposed to be seamless, they would have had this done prior to the changeover.
If you use UHC it is called RenewActive and MVP did accept it and presumably Genesis will also. They told me nothing would change with my membership.
My wife contacted them about the Silver Sneakers. They confirmed they are part of the Silver Sneakers program.
