Check the attic for spare pieces left after construction.
You can find basic white sold by the piece however, be prepared to buy a whole box for specific colors. $$$

My lawn people put a hole in mine they sent Doc Restoration to fix took them a few minutes can’t see the repair. They give me the old piece which I saved in my attic for future repairs.

As a retired contractor in my lifetime have replaced many pieces of siding damaged by the grill. As everybody has said how to do it just keep one thing in mind your new siding will not match the old siding so what you really wanna do is remove a piece of siding at the bottom somewhere else use that to replace your siding so it matches in that spot and put the new siding in an area where you don’t see it all the time

Finally, an opinion from someone that has" been there done that". Most people will say"why didnt I think of that"!
Secondly, go to the store and get that little hook tool.
Third , go to the store and het that little hook tool. They are a couple of bucks. You wont regret it, and most likely will never have to use it again.

I want to thank all of you for your excellent help and suggestions. What Ive learned is this is not near as difficult or expensive as I thought. I know there is a expertise involved. My one problem will prob be trying to get only 1 or 2 lengths of light tan vinyl siding for my courtyard villa built in 2007 located in Duval.

I don’t believe anyone mentioned it, Brian Terry Vinyl was the vinyl siding contractor for many of the CYV’s in 2005-2007, and they used to have an inventory of all vinyl siding colors that were used in TV. They repaired my 2005 CYV within the last 10 years, and it took them under 30 minutes. I don’t recall the exact repair charge but it was around $70, and I thought it was worth the price. I didn't have to shop, match the color, remove and rehang the siding.

Brian Terry Vinyl is on the internet or do a search on TOTV.

Nope. T&D sells individual pieces in an assortment of colors. $14 for a 12’ piece

Was unable to pm you but would love to pick your brain about the siding issue. We hired someone and they didn’t match it very well. Can be reached at mf1017 (aol). Not sure if they let me do the email here.

Thanks,
Mark

Now we all know not to put the grill next to the house. Put it at least a foot and a half away at a 90° angle and you'll never have this problem.

If you can't find a matching color, you can always use any color siding and buy a quart of computer matched paint. I have had excellent results doing that with siding and other things.

Call me tomorrow at 248-670-1036 and I will give you a number and name of a great guy that will do the whole job. He is very reasonable also

Vinyl siding is easy to remove and replace.

Email home warranty (product.info@thevillages.com). Or, if you have your home spec sheet, it'll be listed there as well. Give them your unit/lot number, or your address, and they'll tell you the color and style. More than likely its dutchlap, but you'll need the color

T&D Supply (301 south of the turnpike) has the styles and colors.

If your home here is older, Home Depot carries Dutchlap 4.5" in white only.

That’ll work. You might also have spec drawings for your home tucked away somewhere. Mine were in a garage drawer. Replacing them is fairly easy if you are handy. You can also remove a bad piece and use that to match. Look at some YouTube videos if you want to learn how.

Take a piece of siding with you to T&D on 301, they sell individual pieces and will match up the pattern and size.
Take a piece off the back of the house, and use that for your repair, put the new piece in the back. The siding in the back of the house will be faded with the rest of the house, and match better.

I read the OP again but I must have missed the part where he was grilling out front!

Go to the back of our house and look for pieces behind a bush the same length, swap those with the melted ones. They'll be the same color.
