Default My House Shook

I have lived in McClure for a month now, so
I am very new and not used to local anomalies.
My house just now shook for a few seconds. If this was earthquake country (I lived decades in California), I would think it was a short earthquake.
Could this be excavation? A sinkhole opening?

Once a month there is a blast just like that. I've been told that you can go on their website (I don't know the name) and see their blasting schedule. Welcome to the southern oaks!

We are closing on a one year old home in DeSoto in two weeks and the sellers have disclosed this once a month blast. Last night while sleeping in our motorhome in the San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles, we listened to gun shots during the night. We look forward to that once a month blast from the quarry over our earthquakes, fires (currently all around us), police chases, and gun fights. Starting our drive across country tomorrow.

The Dixie Lime and Stone Co is the business that does the blasting. You needn't be concerned about any of their activities as they tell us on their website. Excellent concern for the community and Christian.

Quote:
Dixie Lime and Stone Company strives to be an aggregate producer that is innovative, environmentally responsible, efficient, customer-focused and community friendly as we uphold our company mission statement:
Serve Customers with Excellence
Manage Resources with Diligence
Build Team Members with Care
Honor Jesus Christ in all that We Do.
Nothing says Honor Jesus like a well detonated stick of dynamite. Why does a company mission have to have a religious bias? But I'm sure all you residents of Fenney and its neighboring villages all feel much better about those explosions knowing they Honor Jesus Christ.

Puts the monthly blasts in perspective!

Good luck on your closing and congrats. 🥳
