Default limiting the pool in historical side and Chula

If any of you out there are living on the historical side..or in use the Chula Vista pool, please email me for names and numbers of people that will be voting either to close the pools at 10 or at dusk. If they start taking away our privelages what is next? I for one go to the pool in the evenings after dusk..especially between March and October. My grandkids like to go to the pool after dark settles in. It is not as crowded as the day time hours.

We also need to know when they will be voting on this issue. So we can be there to voice our oppsition to the current pool closing times.

If they change this..what is next?

Its called noise abatement.......If they close the downtown area's at 9:00 oclock because of the late evening noise, then they certainly will close the pools at dusk...Its a popular decision.... I doubt the vote will go the other way...

Nothing will be done, if no one makes noise. I think we should make a lot of noise. It is not a done deal, Fumar!

From what I heard, noise was not the issue. The few reasons were lighting (the Hilltop pool area needs to be lit anyways due to postoffice is there).

There are many people that use the pool that cannot use it during the day. Many cannot be in the sun; after sundown is the perfect time for these people. A lot of us like to go to the pool after supper to get cooled down after a hot day. The temperature after dusk is still usually warm to hot.

The more people call and tell the people who will be voting, the better those people will know good reasons to either keep it the same, or close at 10 p.m.

My kids and grandkids (teenagers) like the pool in the evening due to most of the younger children have gone to the pool during the day. It is nicer with fewer younger children in the pool.

I see no valid reason to change the rules that have existed for over 20 years. The only family pool involved is Paridise pool. There aren't too many houses around it. Adults, in the evening, usually aren't the rowdy kind. Therefore, noise is not a valid reason.

If you live in the Lake County district of the Villages pleases email me for the phone numbers.

There will be a meeting on this topic on December 12th at Hacienda Rec Center at 2:00 pm.
Please stand up and be counted at this meeting!

If you click on my name on the message above yours, my email pops up.

Thank you!

Need lots more people to call these numbers.

The people on the list WANT to hear from us.

I just don't like giving all the numbers out on public forum. Maybe I should?

Closing the pools in the evening would certainly be a travesty. It's one of my favorite times to swim in the warm months and others feel the same way. I could live with closing them at night in winter, but please, allow us access the rest of the time! I'll definitely call the people voting!

even if you don't live in these areas, you can still call and make yourself heard!

And you can go to the meeting on Dec. 12th at 2:00 pm at Hacienda rec center.

Let's pack the place with standing room only!

I wish I could put an attachment here for the phone numbers.

Yes, a "gang" of dog lovers came to the meeting to protest the county and town laws that say you must have your dog on a leash. They talked so much and made such a disturbance that you couldn't hear anything about pool hours, woodworkers shop proposal or Saddlebrook tennis court conversions that was also on the agenda.

VK...to answer your question...according to today's Sun, they decided to keep the "late" pools open til 11pm. Hilltop, Chula Vista, Paradise, Southside.

Ahhhhh, Thanks 07. Continued bliss. The pools are a great place to be, especially on hot summer nights.

Hot summer nights? M-m-m. I remember those. Too much snow now.

dim-litted fumar.... I think the other distinction is that these pools are in Lake County. I heard that the pools in Sumter County could not stay open past dark..some kind of county ordinance???
