The Navy Seals were great. Is it true that there was to have been a $20 fee?
We really enjoyed the Navy Seals demonstration at the Polo field. It was kind of dragged out though. It started at 1 p.m., but the air show didn't start until 3;15. Otherwise the seals were great.
While I was there, somebody told me that originally there was suppose to be a $20 admission fee to the event, but that after a while, it was removed and was opened to the publc. Anybody know about that? Seems kind of odd that there would have been a fee to attend an event that had vendors and a government underwritten show. :dontknow: |

Dont want to beat this to death, but as I understand what you posted.....
NOBODY paid anything to get in It was never announced as a charge You "heard from someone" that there was "supposed" to be a charge I am not sure what your comment about "rose colored glasses" alluded to,but sure hope this forum is not intended to foster rumors and CREATE discussion on negatives that never ever occur ! |

Re: The Navy Seals were great. Is it true that there was to have been a $20 fee?
Ok...toclarify...I have no idea whether what you were told is true or not....and I suppose neither do you...I am sure you trust whomever told you this, but he/she probably heard it from someone else. If that is correct, this is simply a rumor.
Secondly, there was never a charge......no advertisement that there would be a charge, thus I dont understand the issue in posting it. I am sure all of us have been in positions running different events, and I, for one, would find it unfair to have any proposals made public THAT NEVER HAPPENED...EVER. Whatever you were told second or third hand or whatever is out of context for one thing. I agree the forum can be used to discuss any and all, but I read your post as a negative in asking why there would be a charge based on second hand info and knowing there was never a charge ever ! I just had a problem with what possible motivation there would be. Ok WILL slink off into thenight now |

Agree with Bucco about the "he said that she said" statements. Tell me the exact page and article of the "supposed" fees before slamming the local media about inaccuracies. When I see the article I will retract this statement. Until then you are perpetuating unsubstantiated rumors.

Agree, you were asking for input from readers as to the supposed fee question mentioned to you at the event.

I agree with Bucco I don't know what point you are trying to make, but you sure are negative and defensive.

Re: The Navy Seals were great. Is it true that there was to have been a $20 fe
I'm not quite following this. I myself never heard anything about even a remote possibility of there being a charge for this show. Who is the 'somebody' who said there was originally supposed to have been a charge? 'Somebody' is pretty vague. Is this 'somebody' who was in a position to know? If so, then surely 'somebody' can document the charge in terms of an advertisement, press release, some media story? If 'somebody' can do this, then perhaps this person can come forward with this documentation as well as find the explanation for why/how the charge was eliminated. I just find the whole thread baffling. Am I the only one?
