We had a Century Link installer at our home yesterday. When he finished instead of asking to use our restroom he asked us where the closest pool was so he could use the restroom there. I offered ours but he declined. The installer told me that he used to ask to use the restroom from the homeowner but so many refused that he just stopped asking and now uses the one at the pool. I was a little surprised, to say the least.

The country club pools (open to those with priority subscriptions) have an attendant and those entering must present their Villages ID for scanning. The bathrooms there have multiple stalls. The sport pool I attend for aerobics classes (Laurel Manor) has a gate and an attendant, but the bathroom/shower areas are accessible without entering the pool. It was there I passed a guy exiting with his dripping dog. I suspect he washed his (large) dog in the women's shower. The arrogance of that annoyed me. A worker using the loo is not a problem…. but someone leaving a 'filthy' mess behind is a different issue. |

theorem painter, you'll really be surprised when someone you offer to let use you bathroom robs you without you knowing it. I'm retired law enforcement, my wife is a SSA with DOJ and my son is KCPD Swat; service people that come in our homes are let in, watched while they do the job and then escorted out - no time for small talk means no time to look your home over.

Yes they can and do use the rec center bathrooms. Where pray tell would you like them to go?

Just had new laminate flooring installed in our CYV. The guy doing all the work is a Village home owner.
I have no problem with various workmen ( or work women) using the restrooms at the pools. Just as long as they don't actually jump in the water without showering first. |

I AGREE with you. You swim and here they come. They do mess up the restrooms and I think if you have to go. then go but not at the pools.

In MY bathroom, there would be nothing to steal but toilet paper, lol.
Within the past few months, with 2 houses having work done on them, I've had quite a few asking to use my facility and I would never dream of saying no... this way they will work longer and harder and not take breaks... LOL. there's a method to my madness. |
Even gas stations and truck stops lock the restrooms so people can't hide out in there and do drugs or have sex, and they require restroom users to ask for a key.
I think it's risky business and highly offensive to allow transient construction workers to use a neighborhood family pool bathroom where little girls and boys go in to use the potty. They could be molested, kidnapped, etc.by some weirdo waiting in there. And the filth that was left was probably mud made by workboots caked with dirt that mixed with dripped pool water from swimmers. These are not public toilets. We pay amenities fees for them to use and to have them clean and safe. |
