Neighborhood Pools
I've been poring over the Villages' maps, and I think I may have stumbled upon something. Perhaps everyone else already knows this?
One of my hot buttons is the Neighborhood Pools (Adult only pools), and I have noticed there are very few in the north, and I can't find any at all down by the Fenney/Desoto area. Am I missing something? I like the idea of the adults only pools, and if there are none down in the southern area, that could be an issue. |

Take a look at the Bonnybrook area.... we have 5 adult pools within a short cart ride.

They don't have many up north, but they are just as plentiful in the fenney area as they are from 466 on south.

I believe all of the pools at the mail stations are adult only. Isn't that also true in Fenney?

Ok, it must be that I am either missing something or I don't understand the concept. All I see in the Fenney/Desoto area are Village Rec Centers, which I understood were family pools. The vast majority of Neighborhood Pools I am seeing seem to be between 466 and 44A.

I did find one, the Willow Tree postal and rec center that appears to be an adult pool. The others in the Fenney area, Spanish Moss, Fenney Rec Center, Blue Heron, and Sugar Cane, all appear to be configured as family pool areas.
I really like the idea of the southern villages, but what seems to be a lack of Adult only pools would be problematic for me. Hopefully, I am misreading the maps. |

Nothing wrong with kids. But if I am going to be living in a 55+ retirement community, I want the option of avoiding the noise and chaos that kids can bring to equation.

The pool at the Rio Grand Mail Station is a family, not adult only, pool.

I have to agree with this. It appears to me that children and water equal screaming ......... admittedly, it is happy screaming, but I would prefer to sit around a pool and read a book and enjoy the peace and quiet. I've done my time with children and pools, our pool used to be full of all the neighborhood kids every day, weather permitting, until my children were grown.

In Fenney all sports pools are adult only. I asked about the pool at the Fenney Rec Center and was told the pool at the Fenney Rec Center is a family pool until the real family pool will be built(I think it is the Everglades RecCenter). That pool will be incredible with water slides, all sorts of fun stuff. At that point the Fenney Rec Pool will be adult only. But, as with everything, that could change.

Is that true? What if someone's grandkids come down in the summer?
