I think Bogie meant they default to adult pools when kids are not around. To my knowledge, kids are always welcome at family pools.

All pools at regional rec centers are adult only. Over thirty.

What is a "regional" rec center? Are those the big ones with the sports pools?

What are rec centers like Sea Breeze and Churchill called? Those are family pools.

I'm confused again! Do you live here (even part time)? I would not expect a member of TOTV for 7 years with over 12,000 posts to ask that question. Nothing wrong with asking.... I just confuse easily.

Sea Breeze is a Regional Rec. Center ( big one with sports pool ) and Churchill is a Village Rec. Center with a Family Pool.

Bogie, you're the one that stated family pools are adult pools during the off season. The OP had 81 posts and is looking for information, of which yours could be confusing.

Not to re-snark, but if you saw how many posts I have, you know where I live.

Sorry you think I was trying to be snarky..... I wasn't. I DO find it hard to believe someone who lives here doesn't know what what a Regional Rec. Center is. I also answered your questions...... you're welcome!

In the future I will add smiley faces, when an explanation will be needed for some readers.

Just the new ones. The rest of us are familiar with your helpful and sometimes subtle replies.

I am not a swimmer and pay no attention to what any rec centers are called. I find the ones in my area that have the most empty pickleball and tennis courts. The only reason I know about sports pools is from having guests and their kids not being able to go to them.

Thanks for all the replies. This has clarified the differences in the pools for me. We will be in Buttonwood for at least the first couple years, but we may want to look around down south after that, and it's nice to know that there are adults' only pools down there. Nothing against kids, I was once one myself. But at this stage in life, I'm looking forward to adulting.

One of my hot buttons is the Neighborhood Pools (Adult only pools), and I have noticed there are very few in the north, and I can't find any at all down by the Fenney/Desoto area. Am I missing something? I like the idea of the adults only pools, and if there are none down in the southern area, that could be an issue.
As of today there is only 1 family pool in the Fenney/Desoto/McClure area. Would love to move there but grandkids love to swim

One is enough, it's mostly used by residents when their grandkids come to visit. We eat a late lunch at the grille once a week or so and there are always chairs available out there, at this time of the year they're all empty.
