Of the 15 items on or list...all of which are repeat purchases at Sam's.......9 were not available.

Whoever does this stores reordering or purchasing is not the same as in years past or something else has changed.

Add the usual hide and seek because what ever you are looking for is not where it was last time....

We are now considering returning to the Sam's Club in Ocala.

The one here has become too inconsistent.

The inventory for these stores is usually determined by a buyer at their corporate office. The stores usually have little or nothing to say about what they get. They are just sent stuff and told to sell it.

There have been several items that I have purchased on a regular basis at Sam's Club that have suddenly disappeared. Often times this is because a buy at the corporate office has decided that the profit margin is not high enough and they can make more money selling something else. People in corporate offices act like they work for a different company than the people in the stores.

For people who say that BJs will be better than Sams, I don't think that we can know that for certain. Not all Sam's are the same and not all BJ's are the same. The Sam's Club here is one of their smaller stores. I would expect that BJ's will be one of their smaller stores as well.

Generally these buying clubs like to be near major highways like I-75, I-4 and I-95. The Sam's in Ocala which is about a quarter mile from I-75 is much larger and has much more inventory than the one here.

I'm looking forward to seeing what BJ's has to offer but I'm not sure that I'm going to switch from Sam's Club.

try Nathans super dogs, same size,(quarter pound) but only place I've found is Winn Dixie. I agree with you, those hot dogs are the best

Yes, we’re Costco members & so far we have no complaints about them!

Don't believe it until you actually SEE it. Rumors abound.

BJ’s Wholesale Club to bring members only shopping to The Villages
January 3, 2021

Meta Minton
BJ’s Wholesale Club will bring members only shopping to The Villages.

BJ’s Wholesale Club Holdings, Inc. has filed paperwork with Sumter County to build at a location at 13585 NE 86th Path in Lady Lake. The location is next to the Lowe’s home improvement store.

The warehouse club chain is based in Westborough, Mass., operating on the east coast of the United States and the states of Ohio and Michigan.

There are currently 219 BJ’s Wholesale Clubs in the United States and the chain boasts six million members. BJ’s had $12.7 billion in annual sales last year. The company also operates 149 BJ’s Gas locations.

The annual membership fee is $55. A premium membership costs $110 annually.

It looks like they've already started digging. If it's like the rest of the construction in The Villages it should be done within the year I reckon.

The prior responder supplied a .pdf file showing the construction drawings for 13585 NE 86th Path submitted 12/4/20 and revised 2/16/21.
It looks, to me, more like it's right behind the bank than behind WaWa. The side boundary is right in line with the traffic light. They will need to do something about the width of the lanes entering and departing that area traffic light - and the timing of the lights on 27/441 - between the 280 apartments that just opened up in back of Lowe's and this BJ's.

Costco has purchased land in Clermont, near the turnpike. Confirmed on the Costco website (future locations page), the Orlando Business Journal, and a Winter Park store manager I spoke to. Not perfect, but closer - especially to southern end Villagers.

BJs higher than Sams Club

Prices at BJs are higher I’ve shopped both the only advantages I see are cold cuts, steak tips, and balsamic vinegar

Tmarkwald 03-12-2021 12:56 PM

I go to BJ's for the Propane refills, not much else. Although they seem to be a bit cleaner that Sam's they are more expensive, so the majority of my shopping is at Sam's. Plus I do like the hot dogs.

Never seen a BJ's with 25 cent carts though.
