Has anyone heard anything about WideOpenWest aka WOW or Wowway coming to TV in the next 3-4 months? We have them here in Ohio and we are so fed up with Comcast in TV after only 6 months, we called WOW to see if they were coming to TV. The customer service rep said they will be here in 3-4 months. Just trying to verify. We have had them for 12 years and have had an overall great experience with them.

are they via cable, or over-the-air?

if the former, they will probably concentrate on the new-build areas :-(

They are cable based, and they provide TV, Internet and Phone. BUT, I'm still trying to verify that they are indeed coming at all and to what areas. Who would you call in TV to find out?

BTW - they just posted that they now offer 110Mbps internet service.

WOW is in Columbus Ohio and from my relatives experience, the service and continued rising costs are no different than Comcast, CenturyLink, satellite companies, etc. New isn't better in this case.

I hope they will be coming north of 466. We need more to pick from. Competition will help with costs. (Maybe)

I 've had WOW in Michigan for 15 or so years.
Good customer support and they show up on time.
Rates are a bit cheaper than Comcast.
The only issue I had was with their Ultra service which is similar to Direct TVs Genie... 1 DVR for the entire home. The DVR was fine. The issue was the dropped internet signal. Maybe that was resolved. Yes competition is good. They are already in FL in Panama City and Pinellas County which I think might be Clearwater.

Depending where are are in TV you do have competition. Below 466A you can choose Brighthouse, Century Link (both have over 100Mbps), Comcast and of course Direct TV. As you go north, there is less competition.

I agree 100%. In my case, since starting up with Comcast in August, virtually every interaction I have had, from installation, to service outages on both TV and internet, to billing, have had issues and poor customer service. I know there are others that have had a great experience with Comcast. I just have not, and I have had good service from WOW.

If they use coax then that would suggest they have worked out a deal with The Villages to install their infrastructure in the new construction areas???

I can't imagine they are going to try and retrofit existing areas with coax??

I can't imagine they would target the already built area south of 466a that have a choice of Comcast, Brighthouse, and CenturyLink for internet access, and Comcast, Brighthouse, CenturyLink, DirectTV, and Dish for television.

We are having Tom from the villages av install antenna at our house 50 ish channels, then when we add internet will will go with a stream. Will keep you posted

Yes they are coming. They are already in Pinellas.
They will need the county commissioners to agree they can share the co-ax here.
And that might not happen if the developer has anything to say about it.

Their prices for broadband are:
15/1 Mbps = $20/mo.
30/3 Mbps = $30/mo.
50/5 Mbps = $50/mo.
110/5 Mbps = $115/mo.

Cable TV prices vary by package:
Basic, Gateway and Preferred.
Then there's HD, DVR, PPV, VOD, etc. etc.

Bundles save you money, as usual.
