Is the original paint with a flat finish a nightmare for cleaning? While the house is still empty, we are thinking of repainting with a higher quality paint in a satin finish. Any opinions on the now versus later issue? Not too sure about colors at this point as we may replace the bedroom carpeting down the road with matching tile or vinyl planking.

When I moved to the Villages we were so excited. Within a week of moving in, we noticed a splatter on out kitchen wall that we thought was food. We took a wet paper towel, wet it and began to wipe the stain away. Soon the spot disappeared but then came a gray color. The paint was washing off leaving the sheet rock showing. We called the original paint company, Lester Painting, who decided the only solution was to repaint the entire house. The used the same quality of paint and you can guess, it also washed off. I gave up, went to Sherwin Williams bought quality paint and painted the entire interior of our home. The salesman at Sherwin Williams told me that his cheapest and poorest quality paint was called "Villages Paint"...
