The retailer should allow the "cash" discount but encourage the cash payer to use a card at the pump as a "hold or deposit". Then after pumping, the cash payer could move the car and go inside to pay cash. Something like this would be more efficient and consumer friendly.

I see your point. That's why my better half goes in to pay. I pump.
If she is going to shop, she pays for gas first. I pump, then move the car.
It's also aggravating when someone uses a card to pump, finishes, then goes inside to shop and leaves the car.
Oh well, life is to short to let the small stuff raise my bloodpressure :wave:
