Default New Golf Cart Trails

How are they progressing with the new golf cart trails? I haven't seen anything posted and I was wondering if they would be done by October.

Go to http://www.districtgov.org/projects/multi-modal.aspx for an update on activity - You can see the detour maps and the current detours to give you an idea of where we are.

Currently from rt 42 to the Lopez tunnel is underway.

The road between the two tunnels in front of the Savannah center is underway. It is expected to be completed by 8/9. The path from the tunnel on Camino Real to Enrico at the Santiago gate is underway.

Default path around Savannah Center

Are they just widening and re-paving or are they perhaps improving the route as well. I have always found this area around Savannah Center to be kind of confusing, but it's probably because I don't use the path much north of 466.

I also wish (for the directionally challenged, like me) that instead of just an arrow with, for instance, Buena Vista Trail, they would mark the direction, like North or South. Sometimes I get confused when I've twisted around under the tunnels. Those of you who have a similar affliction (i.e., no natural sense of direction) know what I mean.

They are ripping up the concrete trail and putting down a sub bed and then asphalt. They are then lining both sides with ribbon curbing.

I will agree that better signage is needed for both the north side AND the south side. Hopefully that will be included.

How about a compass on your golf cart rather than more signs?

They have said they hope to be finished by Thanksgiving. The developer has a history of getting the job done pronto and it looks like this will be no exception. They are working on various sections simultaneously. I wouldn't be surprised if they beat that deadline.

The only delay that has been mentioned was in the recent HOA Bulletin. It seems curious Villagers are asking questions of the workers thereby keeping them from their work. As a first class sidewalk superintendent myself, I would enjoy chatting with them. However, it does interfere with their work and could also be dangerous as there is a lot of heavy equipment moving about.
