Having just lost and replaced my mailbox keys-it's $35 at the post office, you will be given one of the 3 keys right away, and within a week or so, that key will open your mailbox, and inside will be the other 2 keys.
Be aware-that the Post Office that coordinates (all,I believe) TV mailbox keys is in Lady Lake and is on LEGRANDE Boulevard-NOT the one on Teague Trail (I made that mistake). As well-it IS Golf cart accessible, in case you lost your car keys along with your mailbox key!
This is a perfect forum to ask this kind of question-so many people with similiar experiences should be able to help. Why some aren't deciding to be helpful, I'll never understand. Hope this helps.

If you have 1 key available go have it reproduced and your in business for about $5.

Where can you get a mailbox key duplicated? I have tried many places, and they won't do it. I went to a locksmith and they woudn't do it. I even tried to duplicate one at the automated machine at Lowe's, but it wouldn't make a key. These places do not have the blank keys for the mailboxes.

I expect they are in some order in the back where they load in the mail. I have a low box. Far as I know we did not get any discount for poor box location.

They are deliberately controlled. The typical places cannot get the blanks so they cannot make a key for you. You need to go to the post office. They will surely ask you for id and proof you own the house.
