Regarding being thankful for Christian businesses, I went to an Urgent Care and found that it was Christian based when I saw a video regarding bible verses, etc. The Doctor was a complete lunatic and I had to report him to the AMA. When my husband wrote him a note regarding his violent behavior toward me he wrote back that he was sorry and spoke to his Pastor and please do not report him. There are sick people in all religions, better to check out quality rather than religion when looking for a recommendation.

Closed on Sunday? Where would all the good Christians go for breakfast/lunch after church. I guess we need some Jewish delis?

We've had our share of 90 to 95 degrees up here with heavy heavy humidity the past few days, with big storms passing through..........so I do "get it"......can't wait for that crisp autumn air which is envigorating. Heat and humidity can wreak havoc.

Heat and humidity can be brutal in Vermont and New York State and the rest of New England.

In my humble opinion, just because someone ventures outside the "bubble" doesn't mean they are being disloyal to the "developer" whoever that may be. I think this is why TV has that reputation and warning not to drink the coolaid......or is it koolaid? Yep, that looks better.

Too many leftover high school cheerleader types lately.......at our age it is very immature. All opinions are valuable. I've learned so very much on this site.

Sorry I'm "wordy" but have been "getting the hint"......plus....not everyone speaks in clichés.

........and now I'll probably get the "off topic" warning when I say that we have had pets, including plenty of dogs............and am not a dog hater. There are polite dogs and polite dog owners...........and on the other side of the spectrum, there are rude and obnoxious folks who may enjoy their bit of immaturity on these forums.

As many have told me, the people posting here do not represent the total of residents who reside full time in The Villages or who hope to some day.........when we were there, every single couple we met were very friendly, down to earth and natural....just as one would expect of folks who have lived to our age level. Not someone in a grade school clique. Didn't meet a single one of those.

I can't think of anyone who doesn't go off campus to eat or to shop. I don't know of anyone who think's it's disloyal. The developers are NOT trying to get you to stay on campus to eat and shop. People are joking when they say that the developers are trying to keep people on campus to use the facilities here. The commercial facilities are built by the developers and rented out. It is no skin off their nose if people go to restaurants off campus. The restaurants on campus are generally busy all year 'round.


There are a lot of us old cheerleaders here and a lot of young ones too, but in order to figure out who the PITA's are you have to read everything, everyday, for a long time.

When I first moved here I went to the fruit stand on 466. There were so many children running around you would have thought he robbed an orphanage, he told how God made the peaches I was buying. I never went back.

God may have made the peaches but God sure didn't price them. The prices were so high there that I nicknamed the owner "The Peach Thief." No wonder he went out of business.

I'm so glad you asked. Never said that would be lacking in Christian values. But......a business that believes families are important and values a day that families can worship together, spend all day together and enjoy each other's company is quite refreshing.(Hobby Lobby, Chick-fil-a) I'm sure you will find a place that can meet your standards and I have mine. You can mock my faith, doesn't bother me in the least. I guess this is just another shining example of the tolerance.Thank you for sharing.....
