Will someone please come up with a virus cure so that minds are occupied, and therefore people have no need to look for something to get excited about.

It's a public road, they can't close it off to non residents.

Two things. If there is open land near a popular place (such as the Villages), you have to expect that it is going to be developed. Such was the case here. The developers of this land laid out a well designed series of buildings that complement the site and the need well. They leaped through all the regulatory hoops (without any assistance from the Morse family who were averse to this development (as noted in the fact that the Morse family would not allow the developers of this little parcel to tap into the water supply).

This will be a good addition to our developing area.

By the way, if people wanted the land to remain undeveloped, they could have just bought it themselves!

The rtoads are owned by the county. Everyone must have access.

When 466 becomes an exit for I75 traffic will become a nightmare. Saw that happen in Port St. Lucie when it connected to I95. Another ding on quality of life
in The Villages. Income limited housing is needed but traffic studies should be the governing factor.

Governments only react, they do not act on a foreseeable problem before it becomes serious.

I think it was "letters to the editor" of that other site that must not be named, suggesting either getting rid of the gate altogether or removing the red button. I have been told that neither is going to happen. Hope that is the case.

I'm not sitting up nights worrying about it, though. Too many more pressing issues in the world right now!

Yep..I lived over in St Cloud, FL before moving here. St Cloud is in middle of orlando and kississimee. I lived like 30 min from the parks. Talk about traffic!! Our main roads had 6 lanes for each side. This is good here.

If the gates or red button was removed no golf cart could cross over to cart path

Surely you jest. Your tiny village must be located either in the northern most part of Yorkshire or likewise Wales.

Income Restricted Apts Just Outside THE VILLAGES - YouTube
The Rolling Acres Apartments have income restrictions and everything is fine there. They also have sections just for the over 55 age group. There is also a small apartment complex on 466 and Rolling Acres with income restrictions no problems there. So not sure what problems you see coming here. The Villages community employs thousands of younger people where would you like them to live?

I see a flaw in your statement. I suspect that many of the people moving into the nearby apartments work here in TV. By being close to their jobs, they will drive fewer miles each day.

I also see them visiting our local restaurants on a year-round basis, which should give them and other businesses a more consistent source of income. This will enable businesses that can’t handle the annual snowbird cycle to survive.
