I'm confused. The text you are taking exception to comes directly from the CDC website. Are you asserting that your contact in the CDC disagrees with the official position of the CDC or are you in violent agreement with the post that you are disagreeing with?

That makes two of us, suspect @TimeForChange replied to the wrong post...

Why must they have your Social Security number?

We signed up Monday and just got the appointment for a week from Friday (Jan 22). Wondering if they went by age of the 65+. Either way, just happy that we both have appointments for the first and second doses.

Safe Restart site

Get a friend or family member to assist you with registration online.
https://Sumter Fl.saferestart.net/vaccination
They ask who your insurance with and your social security number and picture of medical card.
They will send emails verifying registration and another to go back in to Safe Restart finish could be on wait list most got within 24 hrs to go in to pick day and time.
Step 2 they send you a code for COVID-19 Vaccination. You bring this email with you to verify your appointment.
Email coming in you will see first DoNotreply before Safe Restart.
Hope this will help.

Thats for sure. They stress Do NOT show without an appt. if others do what you did, you just jammed up the lines and its unfair to those who now have to sit in line longer even though they have an appt. follow rules and be fair to others

If you just drove up without an appointment and they processed you....shame on you and those who allowed it.

Exactly. We all need the vaccine and are waiting for appts like we are supposed to. No wonder the wait lines are so long even with an appt!! Jumping the line with no appt is pretty lousy

Please read my entire thread. We did not jump any lines! Please don't tell me or chastise me for anything I did. My wife and I were just like others. We had tried to find out where the site was in TV after she saw the governor on an Orlando TV station in TV. We heard it where it was located and the street on TV. We tried to get the website to provide an appt but it was not working properly. So, we jumped in the car and drove to find it. There were very few cars and they had just opened up. We ask how to get an appointment, told them we were unable to get the website to work and they said just go to line three and they will sign you up. So we did and we received the injections. Some of you on here want to be critical of everything. We did not cause any problems for people who were there. They waited no longer than we did. Sorry but the early bird gets the worm. Since then they are requiring appts. My thought is that they did not have a full day of appts. when we arrived so they let us in. Sorry that you did not feel the urgency and drive up to see how to get an appt. If you will look on Village News there is an article about the confusion with the website. :icon_wink:

We did not "jam any lines up" There were no lines. Read the response above before being critical. If you had seen the governor on TV and he was in The Villages talking about the site you probably or may have done the same. Don't accuse me of something without knowing the details.

I got a code, but the NEXT button is not working...??? Is it because there are no available appointments, perhaps?

dbcolli 01-13-2021 10:14 AM

I had the same thing happen to me, what I did was change my browser from Bing to Google Chrome and I was able to enter my code.

jackiez45 01-13-2021 10:27 AM

i did that but there is no place to hit to enter it? I enter and hit next and seems to be frozen0

dbcolli 01-13-2021 10:35 AM

Once I changed to Chrome, I started the process all over with a new code, it Worked.

Jacob85 01-13-2021 11:51 AM

mjpuleo 01-13-2021 01:45 PM

Will people 55-64 be able to get the vaccine in the next three months? What about Canadians and Brit's that are home owners in The Villages?

bcoffey 01-13-2021 04:58 PM

Still not right

I applied Monday, Jan. 11th and got my email and text today with the code to register. It was around 3:00pm that the text and email came in. I chose a 4:00pm to 4:30pm window today and headed out the door to go to the site. Just THAT fast once I got that 2nd email and text. That second email also included an appointment for the 2nd shot exactly 28 days from today and the same time window as today.

The operation is very organized and safe. They have three ambulances on site in the event someone needs emergency care. Make sure you receive a card with your vaccination information on it after your vaccination.

Good luck to everyone who wishes to be vaccinated. It was a very easy process.
