Newspapers
I just let my local newspaper subscription expire. The price was very good but just too many photos and mainly too political.

It seems to be mostly community news. |

Agree that not a lot in there generally, but nice that they let us put delivery on hold during our absences.

I think the only thing political is the editorial page. Besides that, it is a local, community newspaper with many useful features IF you live here.

It's nice when it does get political with the editorials that it leans towards my views. Coming from NY that's refreshing.

I read the paper for local news and to see open houses listed, things going on. For news, I get my news from the internet.

The only articles I like are "Hints from Heloise" and Dilbert, so I don't subscribe. But, I did learn once from Heloise that, if you want to buy a wall unit, it is a good idea to measure your wall before you buy it.

I like to see how many names I never heard of on the Celebrities Birthday list every day. Crosswords are pretty easy also, I usually take 2 or 3 to doctors appointments as I always end up waiting an extra half hour to get in. i also don't find it political at all and there are a lot of interesting articles in there each day.

Things are political only if they differ from one's views.
If they concur, they are just plain old common sense. |

I think it's more like .20 cents a day. Jeeze in NY the rag was 2.50 a day and 5.50 for Sunday

Hard to compare, one requires 5 minutes to read the other a couple of days, if you go through the Sunday magazines too.

I agree The Daily Sun is not political except for editorials, which are political in all newspapers. I do miss the political cartoons they used to put into the paper a couple of times per week, always got a kick out of them. Those seemed to stop about a year ago. I love the fact that we can subscribe to the paper and turn our subscription on and off when we are, or are not, at our Villages home (HOW I WISH WE COULD DO THAT WITH THE PRIORITY GOLF MEMBERSHIP)! If you want to read a very political and bias paper, check out just about any newspaper (except for the Boston Herald) published in our home state of Massachusetts up North. The papers are about 80% political content, and about 100% to one side of the isle. Very difficult to read these papers for someone with an open mind.
