Default Nice person in The Villages

So, I've been a Villager (Hemingway) for 3 weeks and had just had my golf cart delivered. I called my brother, who lives just north of 466 and told him I was headed his way and to report me missing if I didn't show up in a day or two. Having never driven a golf cart before, I only got as far as the Havana Club (about a block from home) before being confused as to how to head north. I asked the first golf cart driver I saw and he said to follow him. Well, he must have been somebody important because each person he passed stopped and waved to him...and then looked perplexed at this very scared-looking woman zig-zagging around behind him like a Krazy Kop. He showed me the way north and I thanked him. Villagers are nice...I think I'm going to like it here.

When I first took the golf cart to Saddlebrook Rec Center from Village of Belvedere one Wednesday morning a few months ago, I managed to get there in the most abstruse way, but I did get there. However, when I left there, I got so turned around that I ended up heading in the complete opposite direction. Had I continued long enough, I would have reached the Georgia border....

I came up by a golf cart with a license plate reading 'The Godfather,' expressed my confusion at directions, and he offered not to give me golf cart trail directions which he said could be confusing to a newbie, but to actually lead me to where I was going (whew!). I then asked him about the license plate. He took off his sunglasses and hat and I almost fell off my golf cart seat. Turns out he actually does performances based on his uncanny resemblance to Marlon Brando in his 'Godfather' role.

Yes, people here are extraordinarily friendly and helpful. Not just Koolaid but the Scout oath as well. Welcome to TV, Aceskaters!

I LOVE this story! I think the best part is...that we should all be waving to each other...I wave at every person....on golf cart...on car....on foot....say good morning or evening....I say hello to our fabulous gate guards.....makes MY day....I am hoping it makes theirs as well!

Ace....next time you are out...start waving at everyone...they will all wave back....you are someone important too....Welcome to The Villages.....

The "street map" of TV that you refer to--the one that costs $5 at the sales offices--also maps the golf cart paths throughout TV.

No question is stupid. Not asking a question that's on one's mind is, well, questionable....
