Sounds like a good reason to get out of the hot spot. As you can read here this is acceptable by some who justify breaking the rules for selfish reasons. I bet if this person's home that needs maintenance was in a hot spot he say let it rot to the ground. Traveling restrictions do not give anyone a pass to do maintenance on a home that you own remotely. I have rentals in 4 states to include tv and south florida. If the home is occupied and in disrepair he needs to contact a local repair person.

The sheriff and deputies will not respond to a call of, “ my neighbor came from NjJ......”. Mind your business, stay home.

The unclean and the unwashed fleeing for safety could contaminate thousands. Beware of Lakewood NJ and Teaneck NJ residents where there are clusters of outbreak

Call the sheriff? I’m amazed at how people are losing their minds over this. If this guy comes here from New Jersey he can choose to self Quarantine or he may not. It’s his business. Anyone that is leary of him should just stay away from him. You can control what you do not what others do.

Wrong, he HAS to go some where. How the ___ do you think he got here.

Chatbrat 04-08-2020 06:40 AM

He's the Admiral's nephew- mid 50's, comes from a town right next to Teaneck

Really who cares where he’s coming from take the necessary steps to stay safe. Try stressing less about other people that you have no control over relax and enjoy your life. And hopefully you will survive this pandemic.

I heard 5 states will not let you in if you have out of state plates. Don’t know what states are doing that? They should all do it temporarily for now.

Been thinking the same thing. It’s been very easy to get people to turn on each other. So was that episode of twilight zone “entertainment” or was it a prediction of our behavior? 🤔

Let he who is without sin....cast the first stone.

For those who want to report a car with NY/NJ tags or otherwise point to them to say infected person, I would ask the person who wishes to report that incident if they themselves have been absolutely religious in their adherance to social distancing. That includes talking with a neighbor without a face mask, driving a cart without a face mask, shopping for groceries without wearing a face mask and never coming closer then 6 feet to another shopper or cashier, failing to wash their hands whenever they touch anything, failing to sanitize their phone and remote control regularly.

Let's stop pointing the finger at each other and do our part by listening to Dr Fauci. As for the rest of the politicians, they have their own cross to bear in being behind the curve.

I agree with you Chatbrat.

No one knows what it's like to be dead until they're dead. This is no baby game.

Please remember what you both have said when it time for you to travel outside of FL. Let us know when and where you will be traveling and I will be sure to call the sheriff at that local to "lock you up". I did not know we had become a China, with neighbors spying on us all. Just stay away from people and you will be just fine.

This is a little different because he’s from a state our Gov. has restricted travel from. Anyone coming here from NJ, NY, or Con. is supposed to self quarantine for 14 days. So if the person gets here and immediately starts coming and going, then yes, I would say it is ok to call the sheriff and have him checked out.

If they travel to a state where they have been ordered not to, or to quarantine and they don’t, then yes you should call the authorities. How are we ever going to get this to end with attitudes like yours?

Why can't he do this maintenance at a later time when this virus isn't so infectious? Nobody is renting in The Villages now anyway. Its not like he's going to be able to rent it out until later.

Should the sheriff be notified?

Are you serious? I think law enforcement has much more to do than listen to your call about a neighbor. Take care of yourself and stay home like youre supposed to.
