My guess is ....

I would venture a bet that every rule here in The Villages upsets someone at sometime.

Reading this web site one can find many rule that they wish were not in effect….Golf Cart Speed limits, dog issues, etc.

One of the things a democracy is supposed to insure is “All for the common good!”

Here in T.V I have not been surprised by any restrictions; not surprised because I would never buy a home without thoroughly reviewing and understanding the restrictions and feeling that I could live with them.

By the tone of the majority of the replies, and isn’t “majority “ the hallmark of democracy, it’s clear that political signs are not desirous here.

Someone mentioned “freedom of speech” …. last I heard there are some restrictions in a democracy on “freedom of speech” ; restrictions which are in place “for the common good.”

I think Specteron was just being a mite surprised.

This place has rules pretty much like the place we lived in before. It really is VERY nice once you acclimate to the change.

I read all of Specterons posts and she is a nice person.

Very perceptive and to the heart of the matter. Always the "sage". :)

If they are so objectionable to you, I suggest that it should be you who moves to a country where they are not allowed. I see that you don't even like my right to post my opinion because it differs from yours. Do you see a pattern developing here?

No one said to move to another country just to a place where trash on the lawn is acceptable. I don't need a sign to make a decision.

And I think that is is in very, very poor taste that you dragged our military into this discussion. What are you trying to prove?

I'm sorry but in addition to being grammatically unsound

these statements are politically absurd. no DISDAIN was shown for our political process, lawn signs are not part of our political process. Lawn signs are just a point of contention in every neighborhood in which they appear. You agreed to the restrictions of your own FREE WILL, live with it. Oh and the 'if you don't like it move business' , really? is that how the 'process' works? it seems to me that your own statements are very unamerican. Enough said.

Great! I don't need anymore political infighting in the neighborhood over who's who. Nobody drives past my house anyway.....

Ha...I will do a drive by just as soon as I get back!:)
