Default No new gym in Eisenhower

went to a meeting with Pam Henry the other day and she was asked if a new gym was going in the Eisenhower rec center and the answer was NO. the gyms are so crowded now I wonder where all these NEW residents are going to go?? Even IF they build a MVP over there they are very over priced and won't give the residents much choice.

The villages certainly could use a few good gyms!

Get a planet fitness down here.. They are great ...39 bucks to join and 10 dollars a month! How can you beat that? They have the latest equipment and are super clean. Also have instructors on duty . I used them where I had lived before. I found no downside to them. When they open up in an area,a lot of the other smaller gyms close because they can't keep up with the price point offered by planet fitness .

Pam Henry is the Supervisor of the Dept of Recreation so if anyone knows she does. I went to a volunteer meeting for those of us who run clubs. Very disappointing news especially for all those new residents out that way.

No new fitness centers when the ones currently built are jammed is unbelievable.
Wonder if 24/7 or Anytime Fitness can get a contract within the Villages?
Sure wish someone could offer the rationale behind this decision.

Putting aside all of the resident input and work done by USF about healthcare in TV and the discussion and planning about how to meet these needs and make TV America's happiest and healthiest community. Could it possibly be that this is purely a business decision based on cost vs. profit or, the only way to get MVP to build and open a new facility by offering a guarantee of no competition???

For a person going to live south of 466a and has had two triple bypass operations............a fitness center would be a nice thing to have, I'm sure I'm not the only one in need of continuing rehab!

That seems to be the answer.. competition.. they probably wont bring a chain like Planet fitness in because Mvp would loss all its customers.. so it seems that the villages itself must have an agreement with MVP..that no other fitness club will be allowed in.. what a shame..

There are several around the area:

Anytime Fitness Centers are not located in TV so they are not golf cart accessible. One is located on HWY 27/441 in Bailey Plaza North of TV the newest is located on CR 466 near Rolling Acres Rd.
