Algorithms trying to weed out certain people? IDK

On another thread someone made a simple, imo , joke as only the 3rd or 4th post on that thread and the moderator jumped right on it and deleted all posts but the OP then chastised everyone about not helping the OP. We have several folks with TOTV issues, namely, what happened to the daily updates, notice? Have a select group been evicted without notice, or is there a software problem? Maybe the click counter is the issue? Moderator is noticeably absent per any advise or comment on our questions about this very frustrating issue. If a moderator is reading this, please let us know what happened and how to proceed to get this fixed. Please!
