The villages water dept will turn it back on. They were not sure why it had been turned off.

Yes, their house watch turned it off but apparently there is no feed to the house when the house watch turned it on. It's shut off at the meter or a bigger problem in the neighborhood.

I assume that is my issue as well. Someone turned off water at meter for whatever reason and water dept. will have to turn it back on.
I too was a little surprised that they can't check til next week...assume it is because we are not there now and it is not an emergency.

For whatever it's worth, I was outside on Wednesday 9/27 and noticed a Chm2 pick up with 2 workers going house to house with a long steel pole that they were inserting into the main water shutoff valve on the front lawn. When I asked what they were doing they said they were testing the water valves by turning them on and off. They also sprayed painted a blue arrow on the curb pointing to the valve.

That is helpful.
I can only assume that they turned it off, got distracted somehow and neglected to turn it back ON.
Will follow up next week.
Thanks

Water is back on as for some reason no one understands but the water department had shut it off. By the way they did not know why it was turned off

For some years, I was partially responsible for field operations of a water department. NO ONE goes and turns off water without a service slip to do so. They should know why it was turned off (could be a valid reason) or ask the staffer who did it. "Don't know why," is BS.

Sounds like the Water Department has some 'splaining to do.

Update: Water is back on. Water dept. replaced meter in July and turned it off and said it was never turned back on until Today.
Begs the question of how Homewatch folks didn't notice this last week. They are supposed to turn on/off water each visit.
Will check that out next.

Sounds then like two companies have dropped the ball.

How long have you had your home watch. I wonder some times why things are not caught when we are away

Perhaps house watch was removing debris from their property?
