Default Noise pollution

When are wind chimes noise pollution

Anytime the wind blows!
And their not your obnoxious wind chimes!

Whatever happen to peace and quite, just listening to sounds of nature!
People who sell wind chimes should be locked in small room and forced to listen to the obnoxious clanging until they go insane, then they wouldn’t sell the stupid things

Could not agree more. Our landlord has them in our lanai.
First thing I do when we arrive is tape them up.
Can't stand the things!

If you choose to buy a home in the country, you get country sounds. If you choose to buy a home next to other people, you get people sounds.

When I read the title of the thread I thought it was referencing the disco band playing at the town square the other night?

I am so appreciative that the area around our home is so quiet, especially at night. You can hear a pin drop, that is how quiet it is. Wind chimes, IMHO, are distracting and certainly ruins the peace and quiet in one's home. I never cared for them. Anyone who has wind chimes for everyone around them to hear is not a very nice neighbor.

I have wind chimes..Ihave a problem with birds flying from my neighbors roof to my roof and pooping all over my furniture. They don’t like the sound (or maybe the motion) of the wind chime, and its cut way down on the problem. I did ask my neighbors if the sound bothered them, and they said “no”. But I do appreciate you bringing awareness of this and I’ll check with them again.
Noise is a little relative to what you’re used to. I have friends who live on Odell Circle, which seemed noisy to me. I asked them if the cars bothered them.” No”.....they moved here from Manhattan.

I don’t mind the chimes, but if you could do something about UPS, FEDEx, lawn companies, that drive 50mph. Now that is noisy

Back in good old Virginia Dad likes clocks, all kinds of clocks. Not good to visit on the hour. Windchimes aren't bad compared to many things.

The problem with wind chimes in The Villages is that the covenant noise rule only prohibits noise that exceeds a "moderate level" at certain times, which I suppose wind chimes don't. So, someone can hang up wind chimes and force as many as 3 or 4 neighbors to listen to them 24/7, even when the homeowner is gone for 3 or 4 months. Personally, I think they should be banned.
