There are devices that you can put in your yard near your fence that will send an unpleasant tone when barking occurs. Some look like bird houses.

Seems we have a significant # of people who aren't happy unless they're miserable...

Amen to that.

Yes, some people do this to motorcycles too. Invariable they are people who have low self-esteem and the noise is a desperate cry for attention.

And you know this, how?
Did you ever consider that some like the sound of POWER that comes from loud combustible powered machines?

I also need captioning to watch television as I am profoundly deaf.
I was referring to some of the inappropriate captions when broadcast is live.
Often funnier than the program being watched

Sorry I’ve been using cc for many years I don’t see what you have seen

Been part of a large motorcycle community (hubby was rider trainer) for decades. Met lots of riders. The noise most often comes from the pipes on the bike.

Pointing out problems IS a 1st step in arriving at solutions - regardless of age.

I have seen that. The person doing the captioning gets in a hurry or misspells or mishears what is originally said. The result is sometimes humorous!

Dealers are happy to sell new bike buyers slip-on mufflers or complete exhaust systems from the likes of Vance & Hines (my last bike) to D&D (my previous). Dealers make way more money on upgrades than they ever do on the bikes themselves, just like options do to a base car.

When the red light changed I held back for a second in the right hand lane, I had the feeling the car on my left may make a right turn from the wrong lane. He didn’t, he started up and was more than half way through the intersection, I decided he was going straight through and throttled up (bike makes ‘wake the dead’ high pitch sound) but as I got half way into the intersection, the driver suddenly made a wide turn, right into me. I considered it my fault. Every time I would have jumped out my bike is way faster than the car and for some reason I didn’t this time. Of course he said, “I didn’t see you.” (White and Kawasaki green bike on a perfect afternoon?) never mentioned HEARING me at all.

I never meant to imply that it worked in all cases, just one more way for a motorcycle to get noticed by otherwise distracted drivers (the majority).

Windows are up and a/c or heaters in winter are ON for the post-50-year-olds - who are the ones MOST likely to hit a 2 wheel vehicle ( that being scooters, bicycles, AND motorcycles. Conclusion, today loud MC mufflers MEAN almost nothing toward safety. If they meant ANYTHING significant in the way of safety, then I believe that Honda and Yamaha and etc would be loud. Also, some company would make electronic noise for bicycle riders. That does NOT happen, thus proving that Harleys and some Kawasakis are just making their motorcycles LOUD for sales purposes to almost deaf, but very macho John Wayne types. Maybe they SHOULD buy a loud horse with no muffler on its exhaust.
