Hi,
I am new to "Talk of the Villages" and have only visited The Villages once.
I have been trying to find a one month rental for the month of February, 2008.
Needless to say, everyone that I have contacted has either rented for 3 months,
or wants to rent for 3 months--I fully understand that, but we want to try a month
just to see if we like it or not. Any suggestions as to how to find a one month rental
would be much appreciated.

Have you contacted The Villages Property Management people? ???
You can get to them via the website, or just call. They have a lot of homes for rent and they definitely do monthly rentals.

We have rented the past 3 years for only a month. And plan to do the same this year. We just wait till Jan and there are usually cancellations for Feb and March. We have rented Feb,March and April.

Last year for various reasons we could only do 2 weeks. We were able to find a villa in Chatham for the last 2 weeks in April. Someone had rented it for the winter but only wanted it for the first 2 weeks of April.

If you can be flexable. Already I can see there are cancellations for this coming winter. Check out www.thevillage4rent.com. We have had luck on that site.
