The light fixture over our table in the nook area just does not seem to be centered to me. Has anyone else had this issue and did you resolve it? I'd be interested in knowing who did you work.

We had Ciraco Electric remove the chandelier and replace it with recessed bulbs that match the kitchen. They installed additional ones to enhance illumination of the area. They did a great job at a very reasonable price.
We are very glad we made the change; the chandelier had restricted our ability to move or center the dining table, and the room appeared off-balance.

We just bought a matching hook and extra chain, and swagged it over. Works for now.
We may do some lighting improvements in the future, and get a better fix. |

We didn't have the hanging light when we built the house. Instead had four recessed lights put in around the area that would have held the light fixture. Better lighting for the whole area, plus putting it on a dimmer.

The good news is that contractors here will move it for a pleasantly low fee.

We just closed on a new Anchor in March, and the dining area pendant is definitely not centered. We tried to get the contractor to fix it for free but no go. Since we are renting it out unfurnished for a year, (and still living up here in Buffalo), we'll worry about it when we move in a year from this January. I may switch h the dining and living room anyway, so I will wait. But I can't figure out why it's not centered in the first place!

No, don't think it's that. It's not centered on the long wall, so if you're looking where a buffet would go, it's off center to the wall and the buffet. Hard to explain. 😝

Why not just move the table

We had ours removed and replaced with LED's. We also had a piece of art work hung on the long wall and a spot installed that illuminates the piece. With the chandelier anything hung on either wall would be blocked, now the piece is visible from any angle. We will also remove the chandelier from the breakfast nook and replace with some other form of lighting but first have to decide on the furniture upgrade.

Our builder would not fix either as this is the spec they are given. I ignore it.
