Please...socialism can be interpreted as you wish, but I'd like to believe that we care about others and look for those who need help. No one in my circle would ever want government to take care of those who are capable. Let's stay out of the political arena and be proud of the ability to help those who are in need. Furthermore, please provide an example of how this is being taught in government run schools. Have you ever taught in a classroom?

I love all the people on this site that hate socialism , but are quick to complain that the Morse family makes to much money or complain about how they should develop there private property

My son earns six figures for High-Tech companies and gets fired every 6 months since they sell crap. He has saved more than I have ever saved at the age of 34. I really don't worry about him but I do worry about villagers who don't tip well enough for a waitress to make a living.

The problem is most people have half a brain and another half that doesn't work

By the way, I don't think your concept of "socialism" is what you think it is. Might want to look that one up mate. |

Personally, I am not big on tipping. I would much rather a waitress gets a living wage, and my food cost a bit more. |

Many health care workers, chose retirement, I personally know over 80 people that chose that route. During the pandemic businesses that closed encouraged employees to go back to school.
Many were already in school, became full time students. Some with degrees furthered their education. Restaurant workers left in droves with a higher education, for jobs with healthcare insurance, paid leave, and promises of a better future. 2 high end restaurant/bars that we know had 123 employees between them. The owner encouraged them to return to school, during the pandemic half their workforce returned to their old jobs. The rest moved on to something that improves their life. Owner was proud of encouraging employees to move to a better lifestyle, as he told them waitstaff is not a career, but a stepping stone. He had to hire and train a new workforce, still short staff, but his business will survive |

The people working (or quitting jobs) today are the spawn of your children. You're the one who raised them all, the buck stops with you. As for me - I knew better than to have kids. I eat my young. |

This is an interesting forum.
Antiwork: Unemployment for all, not just the rich! Some times posters have valid viewpoints. But, essentially motivation to work is up to the individual... If people have the resources or family support, It's their business.. |
