Default Odor Near Colony Cottage?

If another thread has started on this topic, I could not find it.

In the last few months there has been an unpleasant smell in the area around Colony Cottage. It smells like a sewage plant. I have noticed it as far north as Morse/Bonita and occasionally where I live in Hemingway (Monroe Terrace). It is most prevalent when the wind is blowing from the south, so it could be coming from the dump that is south of Colony Plaza (across 466A from the Shell station). But that dump is supposed to be for construction materials only.

Anyone know anything about this?

I've noticed this odor quite often, generally in the morning. I don't know where it comes from but it does smell like a sewage plant odor.

Any chance it's the water in the irrigation system? That is reclaimed and often has an odor.

Agree with Bogey, I will bet it is the irrigation water sprayed at the golf course. Sometimes even the one at our villa has a smell to it.

There is a sewage plant near Bogart. It is behind th Fire Station corner, Bonita and Buena Vista. But Colony is way to far from it. Had to be the irrigation.

Thanks for the interesting replies. There does not seem to be a correlation between the smell and irrigation systems. I thought of that initially and looked around whenever the odor was present. I have also been around when irrigation systems are working and there is some smell, but not a great amount. It is possible that when a golf course is watered and the amount of gray water is large the smell might be greater. I do know that when they were pumping out the ponds (onto golf courses a week or two ago) the smell was quite noticeable.
