First, I'm not camping out. Second, how is it unsafe? Will they shoot me or throw dog poop at me. Why fix what's not broken. I haven't had or caused an accident in 25 years. Ya can't please everyone so ya... got to please yourself.

Your time would probably be better spent trying to find ways to make yourself and others around you happy instead of dreaming up ways to **** them off. But hey, it's your life.

Miss Crocked, If you tell me what you drive I'll pull off the road to let you speed by. Lord knows I wouldn't want you up my butt.

Best drivers are those who facilitate the flow of traffic, regardless of who is going how fast or which lane one is in. Traffic is like a flow of water. If the water is swirling around you on both sides, or stacking up behind you, you are creating chaos, regardless of speed and rules. Rules are less important than safety, and that often means facilitating speeders rather than fighting to be right.

Hmmmmm, I was always taught that speed limits were set to facilitate safety. How safe would it be if everyone drove as fast as they want?

"Yes, rules are rules but some are made to be broken. Live and let live, have some fun, let the children play."

Hmmmm. It appears that someone feels that rules are made to be broken as long as it's kids in a cart, but not for fellow villagers on the streets of TV. Makes one wonder if we should request a list of rules approved to be broken.

Joe, I certainly hope I don't get behind you on any 2,4,6 lane road, you are the person that loves to be in control and slow down traffic. Left lane drivers are a nuisance and danger on the road. Please try driving through Atlanta on 75 and stay in the left lane and go the speed limit, especially in January or Feb. I wish Law Enforcement would enforce the laws that are on the books and start giving tickets to lefty's doing what you are doing. Please let me know what kind of car you have, so I can avoid you on the road at any cost, as you are creating a traffic hazard. Been my pet pev for many years. Thought about making sign and place in window for drivers like you "Slower traffic keep right". You are also blocking people that are going maybe 2-3 mph faster than you. Make sure you check out your speedometer for accuracy:rant-rave:

Dude,
We're not talking about I75 in Atlanta we're talking about a street in a retirement community where the speed limit is 35mph with multiple entrances with confusing roundabouts. My speedometer is accurate, it matches my GPS which was calibrated by NASA scientists. Try to keep your eye on the ball.

I did, that's why I called the Lady Lake Police department. Try it.

Joe, I get where you are coming from and I believe you asked a sincere question. But, I would say after 53 posts, the answer to your question is NO.

I took some flak for driving the speed limit in the left lane and was unable to respond because the moderator closed the thread so I'll respond here.

I fail to understand why I was criticized. The speed limit is the speed limit and the left lane may be used to pass someone in the right lane that is traveling below the speed limit. The left lane IS NOT for exceeding the speed limit whether for passing or ANY other reason. If I see some nut behind me trying to pass while I'm obeying the law by going the speed limit then too darn bad for them. Why should I move for them? If you want to break the law then that's your choice, I am not obligated to enable this type of illegal behavior and I may even be doing you a favor. The road rage that was described is YOUR road rage, not mine. I experience more of a road calm when I see a nut behind me. So my question is this, Do you speeders feel that you own the left lane and law biding drivers going the EXACT speed limit should stay out of you way?

No it is not OK for anyone to hang in the left lane at the speed limit. The left lanes are primarily for passing and since most would have to accelerate beyond the speed limit to pass any vehicle, you sitting exactly on the speed limit would put you in the position of impeding traffic. In the past couple of years, new traffis rules have been introduced, one that I support is " any vehicle remaining in the passing lane without the need to pass or making a left turn will be in violation" Also as I read your post, it seems you jhave designated yourself to be a volunteer traffic policeman. This is not your responsibility.

Joe, I see you just can't be told you are wrong, why not have a poll and see how many people agree with you. By the way, you never answered, what kind of car do you drive? Was your speedometer really calibrated by NASA scientists? WOW.
