Re: One Sumter

gkadow....

Thanks for the concise recap on Sumter.....as someone who helped at the grassroots efforts from the petitions to the vote, I can only hope that those who care about proper representation will vote no.

I am surprised this even made it to the ballot but hoping it will be defeated by a large margin !

I voted yesterday here in Sumter County and there was nothing on One Sumter. Think this is just a November issue. :o

Definitely vote NO, but not this month, only in November!

Under the old system, there was never-ending dissension among the County Commissioners. Nothing constructive ever seemed to get done. When One Sumter passed, the two thorns were out almost immediately, and there has been positive progress ever since.

NO is the only way to go!

And, do pass the word. I worry that new folks won't understand the issue fully!

I fear that also. We need to make sure that all registered voters are aware of this issue and are voting properly.

If you're a registered voter in Lake Sumter, you need to call the Bushnell main office for absentee ballots and I was very pleased with the service. Best try to get on board asap via phone calls and faxes. They are so very accommodating.

PLEASE VOTE NO ON ONE SUMTER

Do we need to be residents of Florida or does the fact that we own a home in Sumter County, FL entitle us to a vote in the "One Sumter" proposal? :dontknow:

Re: One Sumter

Peachie, I'm certain you must be a voter registered in Sumter County to vote on this issue.

Thanks for posting this, samhass; and thanks for the clear explanation of the issue, gkadow. Frankly I was not aware of this, though I must say that we're newcomers AND snowbirds. However, we have already received our absentee ballots since we will not be here during the two weeks prior to and on Election Day.
