Default One thing I wish we had here

I wish we had a true farmers market in TV. I’m sure there must be local tomatoes and corn and stuff so why aren’t they available?

What's the matter with Every Sat in Brownwood or get in your car and you can find plenty of stands selling fresh items during season.

Farms farm big and harvest big and as Dewilson said, they grow in season.. Farmers don't keep a few pigs and cows and grow carrots and broccoli like years ago. Think of the huge citrus industry that is here in Florida and think about spending danged nigh two bucks on three lemons. Most of the produce we eat is brought to us from afar because that is where it is grown.

Does anyone want to be in my version of a farm co-op?

Here's my version.

At the end of the day at Brownwood some vendors when they are packing up want to sell out and offer big discounts for buying 10 lbs at a time. At least they did years ago. I don't want 10 lbs of any one thing. I don't want to throw it out no matter how cheap it is, no canning for me ether.

So if a couple of other like minded individuals will meet at a predetermined time,we will head to different stands, split the bill and divvy the goods every saturday when they are about to close. I'll eat anything so it doesn't matter what you buy.

I'll bring a big knife in case we get a water melon. We can meet inside Barnstorm Theater.

Gracie dear, I agree. Perhaps we should revert to the earlier model. I also agree with your take on lemon prices.

But even more, I adore you for your ability to use correctly the word nigh.
