My wife and I found a little bit of heaven right here near the Villages. We discovered a u-pick, thornless blackberry farm on CR103, between CR104 and CR102. It is on the west side of the road. Blackberries cost $4.00 a pound. We picked 5 lbs. in less than 30 minutes. CR103 is near Walmart, north of 466. These are the largest and juicest berries I have eaten in years.

Went to the berry patch today and loved it!! You pick blackberries that are in rows and attached to wires and posts so berries are easy to reach. Looks like these people have made a big initial investment in money and labor. Hope it pays off for them. The berries are delicious!! Came home and made Paula Deen's recipe for Blackberry Cobbler. They give you a white plastic bucket and clear plastic bags to line it. They weigh the berries at check out. Today, they also had watermelons for sale.
