Fantastic News !

No Telling where Hershey was but the good news he is safe and sound.

I saw a black cat at Brownwood Square today and wanted to take a picture for you but it went under the Dog Trot Porch and never came back out.

I will put up a separate post in case there is another one missing. This cat appear to be healthy.

Anyway Welcome Home Hershey .

socrafty 12-29-2014 07:03 PM

Wonderful news!

Every morning, the first thing I did was to check to see if Hershey had been found. My heart ached for you wondering where your beloved kitty was. What wonderful news that he was found and now is back with you. I know he'll get lots of cuddles and hugs tonight. What a wonderful belated Christmas gift.

raynan 12-29-2014 08:02 PM

AND WE ARE SO GRATEFUL.

He got lost last MONDAY. I can't believe it. I thought he was dead.

Fantistic Gracie! That's the best news I've heard in awhile.

MoeVonB61 12-29-2014 10:52 PM

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!....I was worried daily for you but knew he was not far!!......" A HOME WITHOUT A PET IS LIKE A GARDEN WITHOUT FLOWERS"...and statistics show pet owners have lower blood pressure (when their pets do not go missing, that is!!)....

maryanna630 12-29-2014 10:54 PM

Gracie, I have been following this from Mexico. We have a big, beautiful guy also, Rafa, and we love him to death. So so happy for all that Hershey has realized where he belongs!
Happy New Year to you and your family. I hope Hershey is smothering Helene with kisses!!!

One of our neighbors four houses down from us, came down yesterday while Henry was working in the front yard and said she thought she saw a cat, a big black cat in her bushes behind her home. Henry, not wanting to disappoint, went down there alone and looked and looked but didn't spot him. Other neighbors came to help and Helene saw them and joined them. Our friend Donna saw him under a bush and grabbed him. Helene screamed with happiness, Henry said.

I heard a shout and Helene yelling, Mom, Mom we found him, Hershey's home. Henry was carrying him and I immediately thought he'd be hungry or thirsty, but he wasn't. AND he didn't look harmed, and didn't feel like he'd lost weight. But he kept looking at us and meowing and meowing and meowing. I swear it seemed like he was trying to tell us something. All of us had something in our eyes...even the big old dad.

It was like a huge weight lifted off all of us. We couldn't stop hugging each other and kissing that silly cat. Eleven years is a long time to share space with a furry friend and seven days worrying and wondering what happened to him seemed much longer than a week.....We are so glad he is home... and we are all just so happy.

Again, all of us thank you for keeping our hopes up. You are a great bunch of fine people and caring friends.

That is a great story. I'm so happy for you all. And now, looking ahead, you will be able to use that story to comfort the next person whose feline escape artist takes off. And that's great too!

So happy for you, Helene and Henry. It is like the ending of the movie ... It's A Wonderful Life. Happy New Years to all!!!!

Wandatime 12-30-2014 09:54 PM

I had a friend who lost her kitty for a very long FOURTEEN MONTHS! One night long after she'd given up hope she was emptying her trash and heard this faint meowing coming from her back yard. She tracked it down to a very thin, frail, but happy to be home Velvet. I am so glad Hershey decided a week was long enough. I'm sure those meows meant, "I'm home! I'm home! Boy, I missed you guys!"

Bonanza 12-31-2014 06:01 AM

What was a horrible experience filled with sadness has turned into much happiness.

Just think -- you will be telling this Hershey story for the rest of your life, but now, with smiles and laughter.

Ahhhh . . . if only the walls could talk!

kittygilchrist 12-31-2014 08:28 AM

Now looking back. I think a trap would have brought the boy home fast.
I trapped a few coons and possums and they were easy to get.
I might just go buy a loaner trap for the next episode of lost cat..
