Default Over the oven microwave installation

Our GE microwave circa 2016 just died. Can anyone recommend a handyman that will install one?

I installed one myself because ours died the same day we were having company and we had no place else to cook the Swanson TV Dinners. Wasn't easy not because the PROCESS was hard (it was very simple - basically just need a drill and a tape measure) it was just heavy trying to hook on the bracket then lock in the front. Point is, don't look for an engineer with a graduate degree in appliance installs who is going to charge you $300 to install it, just find someone who has done one or two before and knows what they are getting in to and has the tools. Should take no more than 30 minutes if they have done a couple. Got ours at Best Buy right after last Christmas ... it was an "open box" LG that was on sale for $99 and sold on Amazon and other places for $350+.

Kaseydog thank but that did not work.

Here’s a solution that Toymeister was nice enough to share with me this is based on the fact that the lights on the microwave still work.

The microwave, all microwaves, have three safety interlock switches to detect when the door is closed. The one which energized the "microwave" (magnatron) part of the unit has the most current passing through it. Usually this is the center one. They snap in/out. They use slide on spade clips. for power.

First remove the unit from the wall, remove the back and side screws that hold the cover on. Looking at the back of the unit pull the cover up on the rear and towards you. It is clipped in on the front. Where the locking mechanism for the handle is you will see three rectangular micro switches, each with two wires going to it. Replace the center one, try the other two if that is not the one

Notes if the cover screw are tamper resistant, by the tamper screw driver tips from harbor freight for six bucks or so
Here is the switch:
Damn can't link it here. On Amazon search for microwave micro switch. I usually use podboy brand or some such. They offer several brands, they are all the same. From 1.00 to 3.50 each, depends on quantity.

You can also search you tube for this topic.

We have the builders Whirlpool quality and in between the screens are foggy and you cannot see thru. It must be the seal consequently I will not buy Whirlpool when it dies

Might just be the fuse in the microwave. Unusual for a microwave to die in 3 years.
