Default Package acceptance before closing on house

We will be closing on our house in several weeks. I wonder what we might do to have a place accept some package deliveries about one week before closing and hold safely. Does anyone have experience?

If you already know people living here, you can ask them if you can have the packages sent to them. That's what we did...

You can also have UPS, FEDEX and even the USPS hold packages at their drop off locations of which there are plenty or even redirected to another address (not USPS fror that). In fact we have a Fedex pkg being dropped at the local Walgreens because it requires a signature and I don't want to sit around all day waiting for it. Just requested it online and it was done. We do that all the time. Just get their apps.

FedEx is a good idea, they have a “hold for pickup” at a local FedEx location which might help but I think it’s a strict 5 days. Even calling them to extend couple days might not work. If you are sure to pick-up within 5 days of delivery this option should be adequate. More than 5 days and the package WILL be returned to sender.

You might try getting a mail box at a local UPS (shipping type) store, and ask if they would be willing to hold package until you arrive.

We sent 6 boxes FedEx. Store figured out time line, and boxes arrived at house on day of closing. Didn’t want someone to hold onto our boxes

The ups store in last lake will accept and hold your package. They charge $5 per package (they are a small business and trying to make a living).
