"Please think twice about doing more damage to the environment with all the poisons these companies use. Most of the things these companies use remain indefinitely in your home and the grounds around your home. These poisons don't dissipate and just keep building up."

Nothing could be farther from the truth!

Most insecticides are nicotine based. It would be like a human smoking an entire carton of Marlboro Reds in under one minute. If you are a non-smoker, try smoking one Marlboro Red cigarette in under 2 minutes...You will know what a bug feels like just before it dies

The insecticides pest companies use today breakdown after a few months.

They are no longer allowed to use things like chlordane which is just about permanent. That's why that have to be re-applied a few times a year.

Thumbs down Using Ongoing Insecticides is Totally Unnecessary!

Most of the insecticides used today do not break down and they are poisoning the soil and getting into the ground water in many places.
It sounds like you have been listening to the bill of goods these pest company salespeople rant on about, who have probably had about one week's training and have no real idea what they are really talking about.
They know little about the chemicals they are pushing.

Chlordane was banned in the latter 80s; nothing new about that.
It isn't "just about permanent;" it is permanent!

Most insecticides are not nicotine based; some are. However, the nicotine you mention comes from tobacco and you don't know what other compounds are in the tobacco.

Nicotine is highly toxic to mammals and humans are mammals.

I'm no scientist, but the majority of homeowners do not care what chemicals they use or how they use them or how often they use them. They see one bug a month and think they need a pest control contract.
Even worse than that are those who use pesticides as a preventive!
Absolute insanity!!!

And your point regarding a pack of Marlboro Reds? I don't know anyone who thinks about what a bug feels like when it dies.

Real creepy creatures. Fortunately they tend to be solitary (unlike the cockroaches we knew up north).

Actually, I know the last thing that goes through a bugs mind...when it hits a windshield.

Its butt.

You do if you have empathy
Where did you earn your chemistry degree?

I probably got my degree from the same place you got yours.
No one needs a degree to understand that pesticides are poison.

I care very much about most living things . . .
A roach possibly crawling across my kitchen counter?
Not so much.
