Default Parking on the street question--again

I received several replies to my last question re; parking on the street and still have no clear idea of the rules. so many varied opinions. Can anyone give me a phone number or web site where I can get the official answer from someone in the know. I will post their response here.
thanks

In a Golf Cart meeting three years ago we were told by a Deputy Sheriff that if an automobile is parked in a golf cart path along side of the street , it was a $250.00 fine........
However I have never heard of anyone being ticketed for the violation...

HAS ANYONE ELSE ???????

That may be ... but are there any streets that have golf cart paths where a car would want to park? Most streets that I can think of that have cart paths on the sides are all main streets and not residential streets. Don't know why someone would want to park if there is no house to go in.

I was curious about this very issue Like you, I tended to associate golf cart lanes with feeder streets like Canal, Belvedere, Odell and the like. To my memory, virtually all homes on these streets backed or sided to them with the front of the house on another street. But this evening, I was out and about north of 466. In Polo Ridge, Southern Trace and at least one other fairly big street gas marked cart lanes houses fronting the street. I expect there are many similar situations in other antediluvian parts of TV. Remember, not all of TV are lucky enough to be part of the enlightened South.

I am not aware of any tickets but I have seen frequently lawn care vehicles parked along the side of the street-- on golf cart paths-- on Churchill Downs as well as on various other streets in the Lynnhaven/Belvedere area of the Villages.

I have often had to wait for golf carts to go around these while I am driving on the road in a street legal vehicle.

A friend from the Doggie Doo Run Run ran into one of these lawn care vehicles on the street where she lived and the cop who handled the accident had said that such parking was illegal??? This was on a residential street without golf cart path markings up near Nancy Lopez Country Club.
