What's over priced at Starbucks is those fancy lattes, cappuccinos and other sweet drinks. Their good old black coffee no sugar is in line with every other coffee shop including Dunkin. I buy Starbucks dark roast for home and have for years. About 1% of the time I stop at a Starbucks shop. So far as the burnt taste all I can say is not everyone likes that variety. After all not many like a straight shot of whiskey but prefer a mellow tasting cocktail, beer or wine. My late dad use to say there's a arse for every seat, same for coffee.

I like the panini sandwiches at Starbucks. I earn "mypoints" credits and other sorts of credits from various rewards/survey programs. Sometimes I toss the reward into my Starbucks account, and go over for a sandwich that day. Once in a blue moon if I'm out for a day-trip and just want to relax somewhere between spots, I'll get their Pike Place with room for half and half, and dump in some cocoa powder and a little sugar to make myself a cafe mocha. Otherwise you have to pay them extra to make it for you. I generally don't ever actually pay for Starbucks out of pocket, I use earned credits.
I usually only drink one cup of coffee every day and that's my morning cappuccino made (usually) with Cafe Bustelo or Pilon when I can find it on sale. I use a Keurig Cafe, with a metal filter and normal brick of ground espresso beans. |
