I really like the idea of another gas station. The Shell on 466A is usually much higher than others in the area. A little competition will be good.

BTY, there are other places in Florida that are not crowded but you won't be near any shopping, doctors, hospital and etc. etc. In addition, you might have to drive a long way to find a decent golf course or a recreation center. Nah, I will take the convenience of driving my golf cart (if I choose) to all the places I need to go. Fore.

Hi cquick lived in other large cities understand and accept the concept of traffic. Minneapolis traffic is heavy but they have the highway infrastructure to deal with it effectively

But traffic was not my main point. My point was that we moved here when the population was half of what it is now and at that time I was not as enthusiastic as some about growth which was measured by the number of new stores etc. So my implicit message to GG is watch what you wish for. Also consider that while TV population is 120,000 the community around it has also greatly expanded so that you have substantially more than 120,000 people using the roads in and around TV not to mention the stores, restaurants public squares, etc.

Naturally I accept these facts all I am dong is point them out or lamenting about the good old days back in 2006:D

There is no shortage of grocery stores in the area. Publix at Colony, Lake Deaton and Grand Traverse. Not to mention the Winn Dixie at Pinellas Plaza. I dont know why people think they need to have a grocery store 1/4 mile from their house. The Lake Deaton Publix is the best. Never crowded (in fact, just the opposite), large, clean, and very well stocked.

Walmart Neighborhood Markets are closer in scope to Trader Joe's and Whole Foods as far as convenience goes versus a Winn Dixie or Publix. The one I went to was surprisingly nice and a quick in and out.

Thanks to a high school History teacher cured me. If someone said "they" she would say...who? The chickens? The cows? The pigs?

Has anyone heard when the Walmart Neighborhood store is expected to open?

Interested to see style/prices of the villas that are going to be built in that area; with the location, I bet they will cost a pretty penny.

According to an article published on 5/22 on the "other" Villages news web site, the store is supposed to open in mid-2017.

It appears the store will not be open while the visitors from the north are here this year. The Colony Publix will be just as busy as usual. I vaguely remember when I was working wondering why are all these "old folks" shopping on Saturday, Sunday or at 4:30 in the afternoon when I got off work. I partially understand now.

It's true you can go early or late to Publix and find fewer shoppers. Nah!
